Corporate Social Responsibility at Chubb, Singapore
 About Chubb in Singapore

Corporate Social Responsibility

Through our charitable foundations and employee volunteer efforts, Chubb makes a positive impact on communities around the world in the areas of education, poverty and health and the environment.

We’re firm believers that positive contributions to the fabric of our communities return long-lasting benefits to society, our employees and our company.

Since 2012, the Regional ‘Day of Service’ has been annual event for employees in Asia Pacific to engage in a diverse range of local community projects that align with Chubb's overarching philanthropic support for improving education and health, alleviating poverty and saving the environment. Participating countries include Australia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Every year, over 1,000 employees across Asia Pacific bring to life some 20 meaningful projects through active volunteerism.

Regional Day of Service

As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts in 2014, Chubb in Singapore adopted Child at Street 11 as its official beneficiary. Child at Street 11 is a non-profit day care for children, many of who are from low-income families.

Various activities from bead craft to photography and painting sessions were held throughout the year to encourage creativity and interaction with the children. In September 2014, our employees organised a donation drive and charity bazaar during which $16,000 was raised for the centre. The amount raised was later channelled towards the centre’s education and operational costs.

"Child at Street 11 extends our heartfelt appreciation for the generosity of Chubb Group. This is the beginning of our partnership and we look forward to deepening our relationship in the future for the benefit of our children at the Centre."

Global Day of Service

In 2015, the Chubb Group observed a Global Day of Service (GDS) across it operations around the world. The initiative involved more than 6,000 Chubb employees in 50 countries. We at Chubb in Singapore and also the Regional Office participated in this GDS by organising an educational excursion to Bollywood Veggies for the company’s adopted charity – Child at Street 11. In addition, a total of S$20,000 was raised from the internal charity bazaar and furniture and electronics sale. The amount raised will be channeled towards the centre’s education and operational costs.

“At (Chubb), we are part of the fabric of the society in which we operate. While insurance is a noble trade in providing a safety net in times of need, we also want to actively extend our assistance to those who are less fortunate. Child at Street 11 has been our adopted charity for some time and we are humbled by what we can do to sustain the educational efforts and operational costs of the Centre”.
